80. The Same Boat, Season Six, Episode Thirteen. Original Air Date = March 13, 2016

It’s night, the horn is blowing from the episode before. A walker is killed by Carol, who tells Maggie, ‘you’re staying here.’ Maggie wants to kill the wounded guy on the ground first. Then they’re ambushed. Instead of Maggie paying attention to Carol, two women ambush them. They have guns. The horn is still blowing in the night.

We see the morning scene of Rick and everyone killing Saviors. The women have Maggie and Carol with them. They tell Rick to lower their weapons, as we saw before, just a different point of view.

The woman says they’re going to work it out and it’s going to go our way. Rick wants to know that Maggie and Carol okay, the women say they’re okay.   The woman is named Paula.

Rick says they know they’re talking it over, come on out, and let’s make the trade.

The women cover Carol and Maggie’s heads with cloth as we hear a walker come by. The woman says  ‘we’ll get back to you’. Continue reading “80. The Same Boat, Season Six, Episode Thirteen. Original Air Date = March 13, 2016”

79. Not Tomorrow Yet, Season Six, Episode Twelve. Original Air Date = March 6, 2016

Someone in the kitchen – must be Carol. Don’t know the background song, but it’s a jaunty tune.  Carol goes out into the woods to gather nuts, and hears a walker behind her. She looks annoyed and pulls out a machete and kills the walker, but now she’s covered with blood. She goes home and takes a shower. She goes to the closet to to select something not covered with blood to wear, and chooses ‘Carol stealth-wear’.  Ahh the egg timer. Back to stealthy Carol. Baby blue cardigan sweater and flowered shirt. She’s making cookies and now passing them out to people on the street. People smile as she gives them cookies. Then she gives cookies to Tobin and his kids. She uses beets to sweeten up the cookies. Tobin says he likes them. Carol is not sure, but he says yes. Someone yells, ‘they’re back’, and we see the RV driving up.  Sasha and Aaron meet them. Rick says for everyone to meet up in an hour at the church. Carol isn’t happy when she hears they’ll have to fight. And the dark clouds gather and look ominous. Continue reading “79. Not Tomorrow Yet, Season Six, Episode Twelve. 78. Knots Untie, Season Six, Episode Eleven. Original Air Date = February 28, 2016

Abraham and Sasha come back through the gate to Alexandria after some kind of patrol mission. He’s telling her a story involving camels and they are laughing and joking.  He’s amazed that Maggie is pregnant, and likes the new fortifications of their town.  It does look a lot sturdier than before.  They continue bantering and then Abraham says ‘see you tomorrow’.  He’s looking forward to patrol with Sasha. Sasha says ‘Nope’. She’s starting a new shift. Eugene is Abraham’s new partner. They both look a little unhappy about it.  ‘See you around?’ asks Abraham. ‘Yeah, see you around Abraham,’ says Sasha. They part, and Abraham looks thoughtful. Continue reading “78. Knots Untie, Season Six, Episode Eleven. Original Air Date = February 28, 2016”

We hear Boston – ‘More Than A Feeling’

Someone drilling a new hole in a belt. A beat up watch. Judith playing. Rick putting on his belt.

Michonne walks in and has a towel over her head. Domestic scene wth Michonne and Rick. Carl comes in. They all discuss toothpaste. Clearly some amount of time has passed.

Denise and Daryl talk about her list. She wants ‘pop’ for Tara. Daryl looks bewildered by her and her goings on.

We see the wall of names. Eugene opens up the car door for Daryl and Rick. Sorghum will be untouched. It’s a criminally ignored grain, says Eugene. It’s sustainable, drought resistant. Daryl and Rick look confused and they drive off. Eugene closes the gate. Continue reading “77. The Next World, Season Six, Episode Ten. Original Air Date = February 21, 2016”

76. No Way Out, Season Six, Episode Nine. Original Air Date = February 14, 2016

Bunch of ‘previously on the Walking Dead to remind us’

Starts out with the ‘all your property belongs to Negan’ scene. Guy walks up to Daryl and asks for his gun. Next he takes Sasha’s gun. He walks up to Abraham and taunts him. Abraham simmers, but is silent and hands over his gun. They ask the guy who he is, and he says they’ll escort them home and not to ask more questions. A ‘person of hench’ escorts Daryl to the back of the truck – there’s more inside and they know it, so hand it over. The point man is aiming a gun at Abraham and then Sasha says she’s talking to the man and he looks like he’s going to kill the both of them. He doesn’t yet. Says he isn’t going to kill them, but maybe they will, no they’re kidding they won’t, but oh yes, we’re really going to kill you now.  Then they get blown up by Daryl’s rocket launcher! The guy who took Daryl to the truck, cut him but Daryl will be fine. Just a little blood. Sasha says they’ll take care of him at home. They don’t know yet that home is overrun. The ‘person of hench’ is dead on the ground.  Continue reading “76. No Way Out, Season Six, Episode Nine. Original Air Date = February 14, 2016”

75. Start To Finish, Season Six, Episode Eight. Original Air Date = November 29, 2015

Upstairs outside Sam’s door. We hear Tiptoe Through The Tulips by Tiny Tim. Sam places his empty plate on the floor and goes back into his room. We see all of his toys as he draws crayon pictures of walkers attacking people. It looks like someone is tied to a tree and being attacked by walkers – probably inspired by Carol’s cookies speech to him. We see a 1960s style record player as it plays the vinyl 45 speed version of Tiptoe Through The Tulips. Ants are trailing down the window and across the floor to the half eaten cookie on a plate. The music gets weird(er) as we see the disintegrating cookie as the ants swarm over it.

The tower crashes again and we see lots of dust, silence, and then the ambling walkers as they stream in. Just like the ants.  🙂 Fantastic opening.

Black screen.

While the screen is black we hear Nicholas say ‘Thank You’. Then we see Glenn and Nicholas as they fall off the dumpster. Okay, finally we’re going to find out what happened to Glenn.

Nicholas is getting pulled apart, but not Glenn  – yet. Nicholas is indeed on top of Glenn and it’s Nicholas’ guts that are being pulled out. Glenn is sliding carefully under the dumpster. Then it looks like he’s being dragged out, but he somehow gets  underneath, and away from the walkers.  It seems like he’s going in and out of consciousness, as day turns into night. As the time passes, walkers begin to lose interest, and begin to move on. Are they distracted by something else? Glenn is looking at Nicholas, who is clearly dead. Glenn slowly slides out from under the dumpster. I’m now thinking about The Attack of The Mushroom People – ‘First it was day, then it was night, and then it was day again.’ Glenn is guzzling on what’s left of a bottle of water. His flare gun is broken and dead. He grabs a gun. A girl gives him water. It’s Enid! He grabs his stuff and climbs up a ladder and goes in through a window to follow her.  I’m glad he’s alive, but I’m annoyed that the dumpster situation even occurred.  If you read the comics, you’ll know why I’m annoyed. 73. Always Accountable, Season Six, Episode Six. Original Air Date = November 15, 2015

The herd is shambling up the road while Daryl, Sasha and Abraham lead them along. Nice that the walkers all stay on the paved road. They all turn on route 642 into what looks like the outskirts of a town and are ambushed!  People start shooting at them. Daryl falls off his bike. He’s wounded, but gets back on, and is being chased by people in a car. Abraham and Sasha crash after their tires are shot out by the people in the car. Sasha and Abraham come out shooting. Walkers are everywhere. Many walkers are killed.

Sasha asks why Abraham is grinning. Abraham says ‘we won darlin’. He wants to kill more walkers, but they’re in danger of walkers and the shooters so they take off. Continue reading “73. Always Accountable, Season Six, Episode Six. Original Air Date = November 15, 2015”

72. Now, Season Six, Episode Five. Original Air Date = November 8, 2015

Deanna is climbing the ladder to one of the outlooks.  It was constructed by Reg, and she traces his initials in the wood.

People below are carrying away the dead. Deanna is overhearing a few women talk. She hears walkers and turns to face them. She looks very fearful. Rick is running in front of them. Michonne runs to open the gate for him and Morgan. They slam the gate shut before the horde of walkers get in. Michonne closes the inside grate to obscure our view of the walkers. We don’t see how Rick escaped the RV.

Credits. Continue reading “72. Now, Season Six, Episode Five. Original Air Date = November 8, 2015”

71. Here’s Not Here, Season Six, Episode Four. Original Air Date = November 1, 2015

Morgan slowly comes into focus.

‘You said you liked talking, I remember that. Like the movies, talking by the fire. You want everything I have.’ He’s talking to, or about a wolf. ‘Well, here it is, every last  bit.’

Flames in a lantern, radio and gun. Morgan is sleeping on a cot, then gets up and walks around. He’s back in the days of ‘Clear’. Lantern is now a fire. ‘You were supposed to!  We weren’t supposed to be here.’ The lantern flame is now a huge fire! Continue reading “71. Here’s Not Here, Season Six, Episode Four.
