As the episode begins we hear “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed. As it plays, we see Nick in a dirty swimming pool floating on an inflatable raft, wearing his sunglasses. Travis is jogging down the street. Others are taking care of Griselda’s foot – which looks really bad. Chris is on the roof of Madison’s house video recording what’s going on outside on their street. He says people are leaving and going east. They’re going to Bakersfield, and Las Vegas. Chris says they’re on Day 9 now, since the lights went out. The military, the National Guard, has moved in and taken control of this particular section of the city. They’ve put the residents behind a chain link fence. “They are protecting us,” he says. “They know when it’s feeding time at the zoo.” He says that everything outside of the fence is dead. Then Chris sees something outside the fence. Lou Reed sings, ‘you just keep me hanging on.’ Continue reading “4. Not Fade Away, Season One, Episode Four. Original Air Date = September 20, 2015”

Chris is peering out the window of the barber shop – he sees the continuing riot outside. A man in a hood walks up to the door and sees Chris. He’s got red-rimmed, opaque walker eyes. Chris is startled and moves away from the window.
At Maddie’s – sirens can be heard, as she dims the lights and looks at the drugs she got for Nick. (day one) Nick wakes up just like Rick, only he’s drug addled, not in a coma.
He kind of zombie walks down the stairs, jerking and hesitant – foreshadowing?
Nick hears noises, sees dead people in corners, freaks out and picks up a sharp object so he can defend himself. He’s looking for his druggie buddy, Gloria, and when he sees her from the back, he’s momentarily relieved. He tells her they have to go. She’s eating some guys face, and not in a good way, and turns to face Nick. Nick sees her bluish, opaque eyes and gore dripping from her mouth and freaks out a second time. She slowly stands up, focused now on Nick, and when she takes a step toward him, he runs as fast as he can out of the church/drug den and promptly gets hit by a car. Continue reading “1.
