Jeremiah Otto is out at the target range practicing shooting. Nick is with him, also practicing. They’re waiting for Madison and Troy’s group to return, and Nick states that they should be back already. Nick takes aim and shoots.

Jake and Alicia are in bed, and Alicia says that Madison should be back. Jake says they will be. Jake says Troy promised to keep Madison safe. We hear a disturbance at the old couple’s house in the Broke Jaw compound. Russell rises from his bed, lights a lantern, and sees his wife standing at the window. He asks Martha if she’s alright. She’s far from alright – she’s a walker. She growls at him. He says her name in a sad voice. He opens his arms to her, and she comes to him and goes for his neck – but to no avail. Her dentures are in a glass by the side of the bed. Side question – if she had been able to bite him with her dentures, would that have caused him to turn? Continue reading “26. We see a pretty sunrise over the hills, and hear happy Mexican music in the background.  We see a long deserted highway, and it’s got to be the one that Nick hiked along near the end of last season, only this time we see Daniel limping along the road.  Once he’s off the main road, he ends up in an area that looks like the outskirts of La Colonia in Tijuana where Nick met Luciana.

Preppers – We’re watching a video of the bombing in Oklahoma, we see Timothy McVeigh, lots of snippets of right wing propaganda films, Bill Clinton, and it all ends with the world exploding. Then we see Jeremiah Otto on his ranch back in the day, being prepared. He tells his audience that he’s got a four part series on VHS about how to survive the world when everything goes to hell in a hand basket. We see a montage of how to live on your land, and survive the end of the world as we know it (TEOTWAWKI). We see Jeremiah and his family standing together, building their better future. Great music too. It’s exactly the kind of music you’d hear for this kind of video package.

It’s now night time, and the helicopter is flying toward its destination. Travis asks how much longer, and Jake says they’re about 20 min out. It opens with a fork in a dirt road, and then we see Alicia, Madison, and Travis being led through a field of dead people. It’s not immediately clear who they are – it could be the group from La Colonia, who were led by Nick and Luciana. Alicia, Madison, and Travis are being taken to to a military base, where they are separated. There are a lot of military vehicles and soldiers milling around. The base is fairly large and seems protected. Travis is taken to a lock-up area. We can hear someone being beaten – and maybe killed. A number is written on the guy’s forehead. Travis is weighed and his height noted (6’2″, 190 lbs). An older guy is taken away. Travis is left with the other prisoners. Travis looks around and spots Nick and Luciana also in the holding area – making it much more likely that the group of dead people at the beginning is the remnants of La Colonia. Nick is staring off into space and his gaze falls onto Travis.
