95. Say Yes, Season Seven, Episode Twelve. Original Air Date = March 5, 2017

Morning, and a god shot through the trees – sun beams through the branches of the trees. We see a camper and then Rick and Michonne bursting into a house and rummaging around for stuff. They load up cans of food, and a gun. Then they have wild, ‘we didn’t die’, sex.

Michonne thanks Rick for keeping watch last night. We see an overhead shot of their van with its open doors – they’re very much alone out there.

Another fight, more walkers killed. It looks like a fire fighters headquarters. More taking of supplies, more sex.

Rick asks why Michonne is smiling, they haven’t gotten that much stuff, but they’re fighting again. They’re not just waiting for Negan to show up unannounced and inflict more horrors upon them. They hear a sound. It’s a couple of guys golfing – must be Saviors.  We don’t see it, but they ambush the Saviors, take their stuff (not the golf clubs) and leave.

Rick wants to stay out a little longer – she wants to go back to Alexandria, and says they can come back, but he wants just a little bit more. She says okay. They smile as Michonne drives. He wants more alone time with Michonne, even if it means killing walkers and Saviors.

Rosita is pulling the stitches out of her face. Tara was coming over to do that – Denise showed her how. Tara thinks they have the numbers to fight the Saviors. Rosita says great, but they need guns. Where can we find the guns? Rosita doesn’t want to wait. Tara suggests she save her attitude for ‘them’, meaning the Saviors. She tosses some ointment to Rosita for her scar. Rosita says to keep it, she needs to go find guns. Man. You’d think she’d be a little nicer to Tara. After all, Tara lost Denise to the Saviors, it’s not she’s been unscathed in all of this.

Back out to Rick and Michonne. She makes camp while Rick sleeps inside the truck. She sees a deer (oh no! Deer are never a good sign on this show),  and quietly goes to the van to get a gun. She gets a gun, accidentally wakes up Rick, and tells him to be quiet. She goes to the front of the van looking for the deer. Rick joins her, but the deer is gone. They continue to look for it, walking away from the van. Michonne says ‘do you see that?’

They bang on the fence to see if there are any walkers, and there are, of course. Michonne kills the walker and takes the gun it was carrying.

They look around at their surroundings. She says ‘something serious happened here, a long time ago.’ Ricks notes that these are serious rounds, there might be serious guns here too.

Meanwhile Rosita is out looking for weapons. She spies a house and goes up to it, and almost runs face first into a bloated gross housewife walker. Rosita kills it. She thinks it had a gun, but it turns out to only be a plastic gun. She throws it to the ground. Now she’s covered in walker goo, and only has a plastic gun to show for it. She’s not having a good day.

Rick and Michonne are on top of a roof covered with a pool of water, and they’re still looking around at the nearby environment. That water has probably been there awhile….nothing like wood rot. Lots of walkers – soldiers and civilians all enclosed within a fence. The military walkers are still wearing their guns! Rick and Michonne are going to go in and get all of the guns. Michonne aims at some fun house targets. The roof caves in and they fall inside.

They must be okay, because they laugh.

Inside the enclosure where they fell, they laughingly ask if each other is okay.  Michonne says it has to be the place. He says it is. They find a bunch of military ready to eat meals in crates. Woo hoo!

Dusk, and bunch of walkers are shambling around the fairgrounds at the school – I think it’s a school. So with the crates of the military meals, the military must have taken it over after the apocalypse and made it their base?  And maybe the school was having a carnival right before the apocalypse happened? The flimsy fencing certainly argues for the buildings to be a school.  They’ll keep little kids in, but walkers? Not so much.

Gabriel is sitting in the church in Alexandria. Rosita comes in and tells him that she found no guns out there. She was out for a whole day, and nothing. She tells him that Olivia and Spencer would still be alive, and Eugene would still be here, if not for her. She says she was stupid listening to Gabriel. He says he only tells people about their lives if they come to him, and she came to him. He admits that he told her not to fight prematurely. He says he did what he thought was right. He asks how she plans to make happen what needs to happen. They both leave.

Michonne and Rick open up the ready to eat meals. Lots of stuff. They light candles and have a feast. She says tomorrow they get the guns, get Jadis and her group to fight, then they kill Negan, then what? How do we reorder the world? Negan’s way, or another way? Who makes it happen? Who’s in charge? She says it should be Rick. He says no. She thinks he’d be good at it.

He’d reorder the world if it’s what she wanted. She says yeah. They kiss. He says they can take their time, it doesn’t have to happen tomorrow. He thinks its safe where they are. She says they need to get back.

Woah! Stock moon shot! Walking Dead never does that.

More walkers, more sex. More almost-naked Rick.  Well, at least they’re having a good time.

Tara fingers the bracelet she got at Oceanside. Judith is smiling at her. Judith wants the bracelet, so Tara gives it to her.  Judith is much bigger these days – she’s got to be two years old, so that means we’re almost three years into the apocalypse at this point.  Tara doesn’t want to go back to Oceanside, and comes up all the reasons why going there would be a bad idea. The Oceansiders want to hide anyway, and then they’ll fight us. She’s caught between a rock and a hard place. What makes our lives more important than theirs? she asks Judith. Then Tara says “goddammit’. So I guess that means shes’ going to rat out the people of Oceanside.

Walkers meander around, growling, while Rick and Michonne walk down a corridor below, and out of sight at the fairgrounds. They get close to the walkers, many of whom are in military fatigues. They make a plan, and count the number of walkers they have to fight. They banter over the number each of them has to kill. There’s a lot, but a doable amount.

They begin to fight the walkers. Rick goes to the car but there’s a military walker stuck in the windshield. Rick tries to pull him out, but only gets his leg. He’s falling apart – yay.  Then Rick pulls out the body, but not the top half. Yay, again. Michonne continues to kill walkers with her sword.

Rick finally gets the walker out of the windshield and gets in the car – it won’t start of course, so he pushes it. Michonne helps him. They want to create a barrier, and fill in the gap in the fence. He says the breaks don’t work. A machine gun goes off – maybe it was set up, like a spring gun – which are never okay, by the way. Walkers shamble up to the car. Rick’s now surrounded by walkers. They tell each other it was a great plan while they’re trapped in the car. Rick is behind the wheel, Michonne in the trunk.

Rick is able to escape, as does Michonne – through the handy dandy sun roof. They end up in a small fenced in area. They fight walkers, but they know the tiny fence won’t hold. They run from the group of walkers. A whole horde of them are coming  – having broken through the flimsy fence – and here isn’t a lot of space for them to go.

They begin killing walkers. We hear carnival music as they fight. Rick baits them by making noise and Michonne skills many with her katana. They’re both killing machines.

Rick counts walkers and then stops from killing them to climb on top of the ferris wheel. He sees the deer and wants to shoot it – to give to Michonne, but the walkers are coming, so he leaves it. At that moment, he falls from the wheel and the horde is upon him. He shoots as Michonne runs to him. She can’t get to him in time to help him. Finally she gets close and her eyes get wide as it looks like they’re eating Rick. She’s very sad.  It’s all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out, and this looks like it might be that moment. (we’re pretty sure it isn’t though)

In silence Michonne drops her katana. The walkers notice her and shamble toward her. She stands there, motionless. Rick jumps out just in time to kill more walkers and throws her the katana. She ends up killing as many walkers as as does he. The blood we saw on the mouths of the walkers was from the deer. They don’t show it, but Rick and the deer were in close proximity and the deer must not have moved fast enough to get away.  Rick and Michoone collect guns fro the fair grounds. They also grab all the supplies they can get. So many weapons! It really is the mother load.

Lots of mounds of dead walkers on the ground, They look like dirt heaps in the tall grass. Cool shot.

It’s still not clear exactly what happened at the school. Some of the walkers have their hands tied in front of them. What was all of that about. And why did someone run over the military guy hard enough to cause his head to go through the windshield? The school was maybe having a carnival when the apocalypse broke out? The military showed up and used the school as a shelter since it seems like it’s in a remote area? Then for some reason there was bad blood between the civilians and the military and all hell broke loose?  We’ll probably never know.

Back in the van with Rick driving. Both of them are silent. Rick stops the van and says he would have liked to be gone a couple of more days. He tells Michonne that Glenn saved him way back when, but he couldn’t save Glenn, and he’s bothered by that. Michonne is sorry he couldn’t save his friends. He says they’re going to fight the Saviors, that’s what happens next. We’re going to lose a lot of people, maybe even each other, but even then, it will be worth it.

Michonne says she can’t lose him. Rich says that surrendering isn’t a life. They’re making a future for Judith and Glenn and Maggie’s baby. He says they can lose each other, their friends, the people they love, but it’s about the future.  This must be the Walking Dead preparing us for another blood bath.

Michonne wants to know how they can be so sure.

They go to Jadis and give them the guns. 63 guns. Jadis says it’s not enough. Jadis says the deal is still on. Rick says they’re taking 20 guns. Okay, says Jadis, but she wants the cat back. Much milling around as the guns are distributed.

Back at Alexandria. Tara goes out the front door and runs into Rick. He’s looking for Rosita and Tara hasn’t seen her.

Tara says she has something to tell Rick. Sigh. She’s going to rat out Oceanside.

Rosita with a determined look on her face goes to Hilltop and sees Sasha by the graves.

Rosita says she’s here because she needs Sasha’s help. Sasha knows what Rosita wants and says ‘one condition – I get to take the shot.’ Rosita is okay with that.

Rosita pulls out a very large gun and she gives it to Sasha. Sasha looks through the sight and is generally impressed. Rosita explains that Rick and Michonne found guns. Sasha and Rosita make a pact – essentially a suicide pact. to kill Negan. It’s both of them against the Saviors.
