We hear Boston – ‘More Than A Feeling’

Someone drilling a new hole in a belt. A beat up watch. Judith playing. Rick putting on his belt.

Michonne walks in and has a towel over her head. Domestic scene wth Michonne and Rick. Carl comes in. They all discuss toothpaste. Clearly some amount of time has passed.

Denise and Daryl talk about her list. She wants ‘pop’ for Tara. Daryl looks bewildered by her and her goings on.

We see the wall of names. Eugene opens up the car door for Daryl and Rick. Sorghum will be untouched. It’s a criminally ignored grain, says Eugene. It’s sustainable, drought resistant. Daryl and Rick look confused and they drive off. Eugene closes the gate.

Today will be the day. The law of averages – today we find food and maybe people, says Rick. Daryl says they haven’t seen anyone for weeks. Ah, so it’s been weeks, probably not months. Rick puts a CD in the player, Daryl doesn’t want to hear it. He’s got country music going.

Back to the wall and over the wall. Michonne is on lookout. She sees someone with a shovel go off into the woods, and decides to follow.

Maggie walks up to Enid, who is writing in a composition book. Enid looks sullen, as per usual. Maggie wants to know where she goes all day. She’s drilling Enid, but kindly, and is giving her space. She lets Enid know she’s available for her,  walks off to leave her alone.

Back to Rick and the country music. They pass a Sorghum sign, back up and go to it. Ha. They lift up the door and find a truck. They open up the truck and find good stuff to scavenge. No walkers.  They drive the truck to a gas station. They’re looking for soda. Suddenly someone attacks them. They take over and get the upper hand. The guy’s face is covered by a scarf.

They banter, the guy says his name is Jesus. No one admits to having a camp. He has lifted Rick’s keys and drives off with the truck. Rick says that the guy’s beard is clean and his clothes are clean. There’s more going on with that guy than he let on.

Spencer faces a walker in the woods. Michonne kills the walker for him. She wants to know why he’s out there. He says he walks in the woods after his shifts. She asks why he has a shovel. He says he’ll start walking now. She tells him that Deanna told her she has to figure out what she wants in life. He stops and asks her if she’s found out yet. She says she’s working up to it. He lets her follow him.

Carl and Enid are also walking in the woods. She finds a note, but it’s wet and she can’t read it. She doesn’t think the note is that old. She thinks that there’s more people out there, that’s the significance of the note. She asks Carl why they keep coming out there. He says we’re kids, it’s what we do. She says they aren’t kids, and they keep walking.

Daryl and Rick are running after the truck and Jesus. They find the soda box. They get snacks – and sodas.  Rick thinks they should bring in the people who are out here. But not Jesus. They continue tracking him.

Carl and Enid are sitting by a tree eating snacks and reading when they hear a noise. They see Spencer and Michonne. Enid wants to know what they were doing. He says ‘walking, I don’t know’. Enid doesn’t want to come out into the woods anymore. Carl gets up, says okay, and begins walking away. Enid follows. Time passes, they walk, and they see a walker. They argue, they clearly recognize the walker, but they don’t show us who it is. Carl doesn’t want to kill it, Enid does. Finally, Enid leaves. The walker is still ‘alive’.

Rick and Daryl are still running, tracking the truck. They see Jesus fixing a flat tire on the truck. They circle around and hide in the woods – they can see the truck.  Rick comes up behind Jesus. They fight. Jesus has mad martial arts skills.  He gets in some solid hits on Rick and Daryl both. They finally get the upper hand. They banter some more and Rick wants the keys.  This time they tie him up. Daryl has lost some of the sodas – the cans got shot. Daryl and Rick get in the truck, put in the keys, and drive off.

Rick and Daryl continue driving, hey hear pounding. Jesus was on the roof of the truck. Daryl jumps out of the truck to chase Jesus. Rick is in the truck. Daryl chases. There are many walkers.

Daryl and Jesus fight in the truck, Jesus shoots a walker and saves Daryl’s life. As they fight in the truck, the parking brake goes off and the truck backs off into the lake. There’s a lesson here. They could have shared. But noooo, and now neither group gets the contents of the truck.

Rick wants to save Jesus. Daryl isn’t so sure, but in the end they agree not to abandon him.

Spencer asks Michonne why she’s still following him. She says she liked his mom a lot. He tells Michonne he has to take care of something before he can go on. (probably killing Deanna and burying her).  Michonne sees Carl, then she sees the Deanna-walker. She’s stricken. It is pretty sad. Spencer tells Michonne he thought he saw Deanna one night.  He has to kill her and bury her.  They encounter her, Michonne incapacitates her, giving Spencer a chance to kill her. They are very close to each other. He can’t do it, but then he does. He tells Michonne that’s why he was out there. They are both upset. It was nice though that the two people Deanna cared most about were the ones to kill her and bury her.

Spencer finishes burying his mom. Michonne makes a grave marker, carving a “D” in a tree. Michonne asks if Spencer loved his family, and his says yes. Michonne says he has found his way because of this. They begin the walk back to Alexandria.

Rick is driving his car, with Daryl and Jesus in the back. Jesus is still unconscious, or maybe faking it. They’re heading back to town too.

Carl is with Judith. Michonne asks if he had a good day, he says yes. Michonne says he saw what he did with Deanna. Michonne says you should have left her or killed her. Michonne gives him a hard time for being outside. Carl says the same. He couldn’t kill Deanna because it needed to be someone who loved her. Carl says he’d kill Michonne in that way. Awww.

It’s night and they get back to Alexandria – greeted by a walker. Daryl doesn’t think they should be looking for people anymore. Rick says they should. The gate opens and they drive in, minus the walker.  They carry Jesus to Denise – he’s still bound.  Daryl says ‘that thing didn’t work out’ – meaning the sodas. Daryl leaves Jesus food, and Rick leaves him a note.

Rick says it’s pretty stupid for us to go out there isn’t it. Daryl says, yep, do it again tomorrow? Yep. Very Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Back at home with Rick and Michonne. Michonne shows Rick pics of Judith. They discuss Jesus. Let’s talk about our days.  They don’t want to talk about their days. He gives her some mints. He tells her about the truck at the bottom of the lake. They hold hands and look serious.  They kiss.  Michonne starts laughing, but it seems to work.  Good for them! They’re in bed sleeping when someone says ‘Rick, wake up’.  It’s Jesus. He got away and is in their bedroom!
