We hear the horn again from last week and see Glen running through the woods. Rick is on the walkie-talkie trying to find out what is happening in Alexandria. He’s telling Tobin to stop that horn. Rick is talking to Daryl on the walkie-talkie. Michonne kills a walker. Lots of Alexandrians running with Rick and Glenn through the woods – the Alexandrian’s are clearly inexperienced.
Abraham and Sasha are still slowly driving their car, with Daryl on his motorcycle leading their parade of a thousand walkers. Daryl and Rick talk via walkie-talkie. Daryl wants to help Rick, but Rick says to stay on the parade route. Daryl is doubtful, but stays.
Nicholas stops, looking a little overwhelmed, and Annie sprains her ankle. A whiny Alexandrian guy back talks Michonne. He blames everything on Rick. Heath overhears the conversation.
Rick makes a new plan – he’s going to get to the RV and lead them away. He calls Michonne and Glenn over, and away from the Alexandrian’s and tells them to abandon the Alexandrians if they have to. He doesn’t think they’re all going to make it. Heath overhears and assess the situation. Whiny backtalk guy immediately gets hit by a walker and is bitten in the neck. Michonne stabs whiny backtalk guy in the head. Rick leaves and tells Michonne and Glenn to get home safe, and get the others home safe if they can. Heath is overhearing all of this and looks horrified.
The group, with Michonne in the lead, walks through the woods toward Alexandria. They know that as they walk toward Alexandria the walkers will catch up to them. Now they hear and see the trailing end of the walkers. Michonne and Glenn run to the walkers and begin to kill them all. A couple of Alexandrians join the fight. A black guy gets bit (at least it looks that way) as does the leader of the Alexandrians. Heath is okay.
Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha start to make a new plan. Daryl is conflicted about what to do. He wants to go off on his own. Sasha is worried that if they don’t stick to the original plan, Abraham and Sasha could get munched. Daryl decides to go along with Rick’s new plan and speeds off. Sasha and Abraham are alarmed.
Michonne’s group is now on a road. Two are wounded by walkers. Michonne looks at David’s wound. He asks if it’s bad, she says it looks like what you’d expect. Bummer. They talk about how he met his wife – it was after everything happened. They’ve only been married three months and Betsy is great and made him a better person. Michonne is very sad. David tells Michonne how great his wife is. Black guy is bleeding and they need to stop the bleeding. They come to a town and see lots of cars.
Glenn tells Michonne he has to get home, but he doesn’t want to leave anyone. Nicholas and Heath are talking about the disaster in the town where they are. They are looking for car keys so they can get home faster, but no luck. This is the town where Nicholas and Glenn had their fight. The town appears deserted now.
Sturges’s hat is found by the group, and the Alexandrian woman said that he left them behind. He’s the guy who ran off earlier. Moments later they come upon Sturges as he’s being eaten by walkers.. The herd is surrounding them. They take refuge inside a pet store. Nicholas can’t remember which way will get them out. He’s definitely afraid and stressed.
Michonne and Heath are talking. She tells Heath they might have to lead the walkers away. Glenn says maybe they can distract the herd. Glenn says he’ll distract them, and Michonne should get them home. Nicholas says there’s a feed store and lots of dry stuff to burn. Nicholas can lead them. Glenn says okay. He’s giving Nicholas his second chance.
Rick is running down the road at a good clip. He’s running toward walkers eating someone. He has to battle them all. He cuts himself on the knife. He takes all the weapons from the body of the eat-ee, looks at his wounded hand, and keeps running.
They bandage up the black guy. Annie says to leave her, she’s slowing everyone down. Heath doesn’t want to leave them. No leaving people behind. Michonne says no one is leaving anyone behind. Heath goes to look for something to help Annie walk better under her own power.
There are walkers outside and we can see them through the windows.
Michonne asks Heath if he has a problem with her. He says he’s only looking out for his people. Heath says he overhead Rick. Heath says Rick said they all weren’t going to make it. Michonne says sometimes you don’t have a choice and sometimes you don’t know what it’s like out there. She asks if he’s ever been out where you’re covered with so much blood you don’t know if it’s a walkers, yours, or your friends. If not, then you don’t know what it’s like to be out there.
Glenn and Nicholas are outside. They come across a walker and it was someone Nicholas knew. Nicholas says the guy was 19, and someone they left behind. Nicholas says it should be him that kills the walker. And after sadness on Nicholas’s part, he does so. They hear gun shots and think it’s from home. It’s probably the wolf attack we saw last week.
The people in the pet store hear the gun shots too, but they see the walkers outside. They’re being drawn by the gun fire. Michonne says as soon as they clear, they head for the feed store.
Rick continues to run toward the RV. He goes inside the RV and gets the keys and starts it up. His hand is bleeding badly.
Back at the pet store. David is writing a note to Betsy, his wife. He rolls it up and gives it to Michonne. Michonne writes on her arm, you’re getting home. There’s a banging on the door. Walkers inside, but Michonne kills them. They make a lot of noise, and the walkers outside notice the people in the pet store. The walkers outside are now all heading toward the pet store!
Guns blasting, the people in the pet store shoot their way out. It’s almost like a saloon shoot from a wild wild west movie. Annie falls to the ground and is eaten alive by walkers. Everyone is horrified, but they run as best they can, considering there are still wounded among them. The walkers are right behind them. Meanwhile, Nicholas and Glenn and get cornered by the walkers – hoards of them. The walkers look hungry.
Michonne and her group must climb a fence to get away from the walkers.
Nicholas and Glenn are cornered by a horde. Man, there’s no where to go.
Michonne climbs the fence, and David falls into the walker horde. Heath is on the other side of the fence and Michonne barely makes it over. David is being eaten and his note is on the ground, but no one can reach it. Heath, Michonne, and the other black guy watch this happen, and they have to leave. There’s nothing they can do.
Back to Glenn and Nicholas. They are fighting and Glen climbs up on top of trash dumpster. They too have to get over a fence, but this one is topped with barbed wire. Nicholas is overwhelmed by all of this. He looks like he’s contemplating death by walker. He’s looking out over the sea of walkers and seeing no way out. No sound except for one or two walker growls as he thinks. Back to reality, and Glenn is saying look at me! Nicholas is not thinking clearly at all. He says thank you to Glenn and then shoots himself in the head!! Nicholas falls into Glenn, causing Glenn to lose his balance, and they both fall into the horde, where it appears that Glenn is eaten alive!
Michonne, hurt black guy, and Heath are heading back to Alexandria. They are at a stream. Michonne is looking for something to indicate Glenn is still alive and sees nothing. They go through the stream. Heath looks at his reflection in the water – probably thinking about being covered with someone else’s blood.
Rick is going into the RV. Rick is calling Glenn on his walkie-talkie. No answer. He calls Tobin, no answer. He calls Daryl, and Daryl answers. Finally! Someone! Rick is still waiting to hear from the others and he hears gunfire coming from back home. Rick tells Sasha they can’t turn back because they’re afraid. Abraham says they aren’t afraid. Rick tells them all that the herd is almost here. Rick finally wipes his hand and gets rid of some of the blood.
Someone bursts into the RV firing a gun. Two wolves fight with Rick. Daryl is calling Rick and he hears the gunfire in the RV. He doesn’t know what to do. Rick is fighting both guys. Rick finally gets the upper hand and shoots them both.
Daryl is speeding along. Maybe toward Rick? Rick pulls baby food out of one of the guy’s pockets. He turns and sees more wolves in the rear view window. Rick machine guns the walls.
Daryl is moving along the road like a bat out of hell.
Michonne and the other two are maybe on the outskirts of town? It could be some part of Alexandria, but I didn’t recognize it.
Overhead shot. Daryl meets up with, and leads Sasha and Abraham, and behind them is a pack of walkers.
Rick is stuck in the RV because it won’t start! Maybe it was all that machine gunning of the walls! Good job, Rick. The huge pack is now inches from him. He really needs for that RV to start or he needs to run right now. It looks dire for him.
Good episode, but very annoying as well. Is Glenn dead? :unamused: Some of the images and dialogue could be foreshadowing: Glenn calling Rick a dumbass on the walkie-talkie, calling back to the very first episodes of the series, as well as Glenn contemplating the pocket watch given to him by Hershel.
