21. North, Season Two, Episode Fifteen. Original Air Date = October 9, 2016

Someone crashes into the room with Travis and the bros – it’s Hector. Travis is shell shocked. Elena and her group escort the dazed Travis out of the room. Madison doesn’t want them to take Travis, but she has to live by her own rules – any violence and you’re out. And Travis just beat two people to death, not to mention his beat down of Oscar. And for much the same reason as Ilene – both were crazy with grief.  Travis’ revenge on the bros was much more savage than Ilene’s attack on Strand, making him potentially more dangerous than Ilene.

Madison takes Alicia’s knife, walks into the café, and puts the knife into Derek’s head so that he doesn’t resurrect. Strand and Alicia observe Madison’s behavior. A severely beaten and broken Brandon resurrects, but before he can manage to get up, Madison puts a knife in his head too.

Alejandro is beginning to succumb from his wound. Luciana tells him that those in La Colonia cannot see him like this. Luciana wants to put make-up on him to cover up the effects of his fever, and to make him presentable, but Alejandro doesn’t think he can do it. He says he did what he could do to save them and keep it together. Luciana says Alejandro failed. Alejandro admits Nick is right – La Colonia is failing. Luciana wants one more speech from him so that people don’t lose faith.

Madison doesn’t want to keep Travis locked up. Alicia asks ‘what do we do?’ Strand says that Travis can’t stay. Alicia agrees. She also says they can leave together. Alicia adds – ‘we found this place, we’ll find another’. Madison looks proud of her for her resilience and practicality. Strand asks if they’re really going to choose Travis – the man who abandoned them. Strand says he wouldn’t die for Thomas, and ‘I’m not going to die for any of you.’ Of course, that’s who he is, so no surprises there.

Hector says Oscar is still unconscious. Madison says her group will leave in the morning. Elena is okay with that and allows Madison to see Travis. Madison and Alicia did so much work in securing the hotel, they can give them this, says Elena. Alicia goes to check on Oscar while Madison goes to see Travis. She tells Travis that they’ll all leave, but that they’ll all go together, and that they’ll all leave in the morning. Travis protests, but Madison says there is no choice. It’s going to be her way.

Back at La Colonia. Nick prepares to leave. He sees Luciana, and he wants her to come with him. She won’t because people will turn and then there will be no one.  She tells Nick to do what he does best – run. Ouch.  Except in this case, it’s the prudent thing to do.

Andrés is working on the unconscious Oscar. Alicia comes in to help.  Hector questions why she is there, he clearly does not want her there. Alicia says she wants to help. Andrés tells her to go, as he and Hector work on Oscar. Andrés cuts into Oscar’s skull – he needs to reduce the pressure.

Alejandro gingerly walks out to greet the crowd. He’s barely standing as he looks around the group. He says ‘my dear brothers and sisters.’  He is so happy to see them all once more. The rumors you have heard are true. They are coming, the men with guns. We believe tonight. They are coming to kill us, and banish us. It is the evil of man that stalks us. The same evil the world is going to purge. We shouldn’t fear. Our fear will hold us. This is not the end. We will not die today, or tomorrow. Another destiny awaits us. We will defend our home. Their weapons are more powerful – they have their faith. Alejandro says they need to prepare themselves. While this is happening, Nick is outside and he sees a helicopter in the distance.

Meanwhile, Andrés removes some of Oscar’s brain. It’s kind of gross.

It’s night and Travis and Madison are in a hotel room. Travis doesn’t want Madison and her group to leave the hotel. He’s not sorry about killing the bros. Madison says she’s worse than he is. She admits that she killed Celia. She tells Travis she locked Celia in with the dead to protect Nick. Madison says she understands why Travis did what he did, and she’ll understand when it happens again, because it will. She wants to face all of this with him.

Andrés checks to see if he saved Oscar. He didn’t, and he’s so bummed. He destroys Oscar’s brain so that Oscar won’t resurrect. Poor Oscar, I kind of liked him.

Andrés and Hector break into Travis’ room. They are going to kill Travis in revenge for Oscar’s death. Andrés has a gun on Travis. Travis says for Madison to leave and to take Alicia with her – they shouldn’t see this. And then Alicia stabs Andrés in the chest!!  Strand yells ‘everyone out – all of you.’ Strand has a gun. He says they need to run, now. Andrés is dead, and the group quickly leave the room. Strand walks slowly toward them in a way that makes me think his wound is hurting him. Strand hands Madison the gun and tells them to leave. He’ll be okay. We can hear many voices in the background. Travis drives the car through the gate, leaving it wide open, as Strand looks on. Is Strand committing suicide by staying? And what are the people at the hotel going to do now that one of their main lines of defense has been breached? Travis is at the wheel, with Alicia and Madison in the back seat. Alicia looks at the full moon as they drive. Madison says you’ll be okay. They drive away on the dark road.

Meanwhile, Alejandro is doing poorly. Nick goes into Alejandro’s house – I guess Luciana’s words stung, because he obviously didn’t leave. Nick tells Alejandro that he saw something and came back. Nick crushes a pill for Alejandro. Nick asks if Alejandro is afraid – he’s dying.  Nick says if they (meaning the bandits) come here, and we’re still here, it’s over. Nick says that Alejandro is being brave with other people’s life, which he can do since his own life is over. Nick says to let his people go. Nick says they can go north. Nick saw a helicopter land across the border. A medi-vac.  Nick tells Alejandro he should give them permission to go, so that they can live. If Alejandro does this he can die a beautiful death. Nick gives Alejandro drugs to help with the pain.

Travis drives up to a building. In the dark of course. The glass in the wall has many bullet holes. They are at El Pelícano, the Bandit’s Emporium. But it looks deserted, and the shelves are all empty.  They approach the office and see the dead bodies of Francisco and Francisco’s family. Madison searches the bodies. Alicia says ‘Mom? What are you doing?’

Looks like Marco’s gang is headed toward La Colonia. Lots of SUVs and men with guns. Marco and Antonio and the others in the gang are there. They break through the first gate and immediately are in the pen with the walkers. They’re going to have to kill them all in order to get into La Colonia. They begin shooting the walkers and then get into the bus. It didn’t seem all that hard. Marco says that it looks like the gringo took his advice and they all ran. La Colonia certainly does look deserted.

Marco and his group walk through the town and see no one, but Alejandro is outside watching everything go down. He’s still holding it together, but barely. He gets up.  Marco and his group say that everyone left like cockroaches. They shoot off their guns – and waste a ton of bullets. Alejandro makes it to the bus. He’s behind the wheel and starts up the bus. Marco and his group hear the bus engine and head on back over. Alejandro puts his foot on the gas, and drives forward, pulling the gate with him. The gate is now open and the walkers can come through – and they do. So many walkers. Marco and his group see the walkers headed their way and begin shooting them all. There’s so many though. Will they have enough bullets?

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of La Colonia are indeed gone, covered with walker guts, led by Luciana and Nick as they walk through a town. Tijuana? The little girl who lost her dad a few episodes back asks where they’re going.  Luciana replies ‘north’. Looks like they’re headed for a DHS border checkpoint.

Morning, and Travis’s group is looking at a lot of dead bodies on the ground. They’re at La Colonia. Alicia sees the bus and goes to it. Alejandro is close to death.  Where is Marco and his group? And where are the walkers? Madison and Travis pick up the guns and soon see a mass of walkers. Madison says everyone’s dead. And we see Marco and Antonio, both as walkers. Madison and Travis back off. Alicia goes to help Alejandro.  Madison and Travis reach her. Madison asks him about Nick. Alejandro says ‘border’ and then he dies.

Nick and the group from La Colonia keep walking, and make it to the checkpoint. We hear the distinctive walker growl/gurgle, and see a few walkers, one in a checkpoint booth. Nick uses his binoculars and sees a helicopter. He gives the binoculars to Luciana. He says it looks like kind of refugee camp – a couple of hours walk, maybe? All of a sudden someone starts shooting at them and the group scatters. Reynoldo is hit. So is Luciana. Nick grabs her. A soldier has a gun on Nick and Luciana.

Alicia gives the knife to Madison so that she can kill Alejandro. They don’t want him to resurrect.

The soldiers separate Luciana and Nick. One of them kicks Nick to the ground. It was a severe kick to the head. At the end of the episode Alejandro is dead, but Madison doesn’t yet kill him.
