20. Wrath, Season Two, Episode Fourteen. Original Air Date = October 2, 2016

Opens up with Ofelia driving Strand’s truck down an unpaved road – and the radiator blows up.  She’s stuck. She opens the hood and it’s steaming hot in there. She can’t touch any of the engine parts. She takes off her t-shirt and uses it to protect her hand while she unscrews the cap. As she works, a walker comes up to her. She grapples with it and slams the car hood on its arm. It’s trapped under the hood – ha! Then a female walker comes up and she hammers her in the head. Then yet another walker comes and she hammers that guy too. Another old walker guy attacks and she fights that one, and wins. Good work, Ofelia! The bad news is that she’s stuck in the middle of nowhere and covered with blood. The one walker is still trapped in the hood of the car. She hammers that guy.

But now about 20 walkers shambling in her direction.  She sees them, calmly grabs her jug of water out of the truck bed, and walks off up the road, by a nearby fence.

Nick and Luciana asleep on the bed. Nick wakes up – yet another time we see Nick wake up in a bed. Luciana is still asleep. It’s still dark outside and Nick slips out of the house. He’s meeting up with Reynoldo to go make the trade with the bandits. Nick and Reynoldo go into Alejandro’s place where Nick breaks into the drug cabinet to takes a bunch of bottles of oxy. Off they go. They go into the bus, presumably to cover themselves in walker guts, and be on their way.

Madison and Travis wake up in the hotel room. He was sleeping on the couch, and she was in a chair. What? No beds? She says she was thinking. Travis says that’s a lot of thinking. She wants Travis to hear what she has to say. Madison says that Travis kept his promise to Liza. He did protect Chris. Chris is better with off with people who understand him. Travis wants to believe, but he kind of doesn’t. Madison makes Travis a promise. She says that Travis belongs in the hotel. And when he’s ready, they can go downstairs.  Travis still looks a litle shell shocked.

Over at the Bandit Emporium, aka El Pelícano supermarket, Reynoldo and and Nick meet hostile guards, but show them the oxy and say they want to meet with Marco. They are escorted inside.

Alicia comes into Travis’ room to bring him some food. She says that the food is cooked in lard and that it’s pretty delicious. With Travis’s permission she opens the drapes, and we see the bright ocean. Alicia apologizes about Chris. She says she felt that she pushed him. Travis tells her it’s okay – Chris is sick – as in psycho sick. Travis just didn’t see it. And Travis apologizes to Alicia for not believing her, and for not protecting her better. Alicia says it’s okay, and she means it.

Back at the Bandit Emporium….  Marco ask how they get into La Colonia, and someone else says ‘with a lot of gun powder’. Nick says I know you found us and he offers Marco the oxy. Nick says that they deliver on time, every week. Marco says that they don’t need Nick anymore. They have another contact. Marco wants the fortress. Nick asks Marco where all of the people will go, and Marco doesn’t really care. He shows them the dead bodies of Francisco and his family. That’s clearly what Marco has in store for everyone living at La Colonia.

At the hotel, Andrés and Alicia are in the garage feeding and tending to people. Hector says others have arrived in the night, and Alicia adds that most of the people haven’t seen a doctor since the beginning of it all. Madison and Alicia see the bros – who are being obnoxious bros. Madison goes up to the bros – they tell her they were in a truck wreck. Derek is fine, but Brandon has a dislocated shoulder. They discuss Chris’ lame driving, and that Chris didn’t make it. They discuss how he was 16 and didn’t have a driver’s license.  Madison puts two and two together and realizes that these are the bros who were with Travis and Chris. Madison goes to see Strand to get advice. Strand says the old rules of conduct no longer apply. Strand is trying to help. Strand asks Madison what keeps her going? She says Alicia and Nick. Strand had that with Thomas – and now he doesn’t. It’s a dark place, he’s in. And Strand asks if Travis can take being in that kind of darkness. Leave Travis with some hope – don’t tell him what she suspects about Chris, says Strand.

Back at La Colonia. Nick tells Luciana that the bandits are coming to La Colonia. I didn’t think they would let Nick go, but it looks like they did. Nick and Luciana then go to Alejandro and inform him that the bandits know where La Colonia is located. While they are telling Alejandro what’s happening, someone in the infirmary turns, and gets off the bed.  The now-walker grabs Alejandro and bites him. They all grapple with the walker. Nick and the walker fall downstairs into the infirmary. And it’s a bite fest, as the walker starts biting people right and left, including biting off the nose of a man in a bed. Nick has no weapon, so he squishes the walkers eyes into his brain. Then Nick reaches into the walker’s head so as to kill the walker by destroying his brain that way. Woah!  Alejandro has sustained a bite – and so has the nurse. They are all shocked that Alejandro has been bitten, or if you believe him, bitten again.

Ofelia is walking alone along the road, paralleling a fence. She sees a cut in the chain link fence and walks through. This must be a part of the US/Mexico border fence.

Back at La Colonia – much chanting as they prepare to send the man with his bitten off nose, and the nurse into the bus to meet their fate. Alejandro does not go into the bus. Luciana asks Nick what’s wrong. He says he’s worrying about the time and how much they don’t have.  The walkers converge on the bus, but we don’t see the ensuing massacre – which is just as well.

Madison says that Andrés is going to fix Brandon’s arm. The bro is ungrateful. And when he gets some care there is a near riot. Why is this guy getting preferential treatment? I think it’s a ploy to get them out of the hotel before Travis sees them. Travis is upstairs in his room, and he looks outside to see a bunch of people following Brandon and everyone. It really could become a riot. Strand looks out the window to see the mass of people and says, ‘dear god’. Looks like they’re going to throw them out of the hotel. Travis runs up to them and asks about Chris. Oh dear.

Back at La Colonia. Nick says that they’re leaving. Luciana doesn’t want to leave. Alejandro walks in. They fight about the bite. Alejandro confesses to Luciana that he is not immune. She touches Alejandro’s head and he is warm. Alejandro said he lied about being bitten and he admits to being afraid. Nick says that he is not committing suicide for a fraud. Alejandro says that he lied, but his love for Luciana was not a lie. Luciana is angry about the lie. She isn’t going to stand by Alejandro, and she is shaken. Nick hugs her and tells her that they have to go. She tells him that she won’t leave in spite of Alejandro’s lie. She tells Nick that this is her home. They have fared better here than out in the world. For most of the people, this is the first time they have a have had a place, a family – she’s not leaving.

Ofelia is in the open desert. Someone shoots at her. She runs for cover, grabs her knife and prays. A man is walking toward her with an automatic rifle. He has the upper hand, and takes her knife. He looks like he might be a border guard, and he welcomes her to America.

The bros, Travis, Madison and Andrés are inside a room, maybe a café? Andrés relocates Brandon’s shoulder. Travis wants to know what happened to Chris. The bros bargain for a car so they can leave. Brandon says there were walkers, they had no sleep, Chris volunteered to drive. The bros were sleeping in the back of the trunk. They think Chris fell asleep at the wheel. Chris crashed the truck, it rolled, and Chris died, so they say. Travis is crushed. Travis wants to know where the wreck is. The bros says they buried Chris by a tree. Travis wants to know whether Chris was thrown, or did they pull him out? Brandon says Chris was thrown, but it’s clear that there is more to the story, and Travis knows that.

Travis locks himself and bros into the room. He beats Derek viciously. Then he headbutts Brandon. The bros promise to tell him where Chris is if he stops beating them. Brandon says they killed Chris – they put him down, they had to. We see a flashback of Chris with a badly broken leg – as in the bone is sticking out of his leg. Chris crawls away from Brandon and Derek as best he can.  Brandon and Derek walk up to him and shoot Chris in the head. They’re unreliable narrators so we don’t know if it’s true. Travis beats Brandon to death. Derek beats Travis over the head with a piece of furniture. Travis then clocks Derek. He throws Derek through a glass door and then kicks him — to death? We see, in flashback, Chris dead, shot in the head. We see Derek dead on the floor, blood streaming from his head, much like we just saw the blood streaming from Chris’ head.  Travis zones out for a time, and with his blank eyes, he looks as dead as Brandon and Derek.
